Mills identifies education as a key issue in council race
Meager educational resources equate to poor schools and poor schools deliver equally poor educational outcomes. We are determined that the children in District Ten and other neglected areas of Jacksonville obtain Educational Equity with other more prosperous Council and School Districts. Better resources equate to better schools and better schools deliver 21st Century educational outcomes.

Celestine Mills Will Attend Juneteenth in Jacksonville
Juneteenth in Jacksonville will take place on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Lonnie Miller Regional Park on Jacksonville's Northside.
Juneteenth is the African-American Independence Day. On June 19, 1865, in Galveston, Texas, Union General Gerald Granger announced that the Emancipation Proclamation had been released on January 1, 1863. The enslaved people in Texas had no knowledge of the Emancipation nor could they have freed themselves if they had known.

Celestine Mills Will Attend MLK Memorial Service
Let's imagine an April 4th when community members not only gather in memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and innumerable other victims of violence but learn about existing conflict resolution resources and dedicate themselves to filling the gaps.
Then maybe we will move closer to another of King's great dreams, the one he described in his 1964 Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech when he asserted that "man must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression, and retaliation."
Let's apply King's challenge to our communities and change our culture of violence. We are staunch supporters of Dr. King’s philosophy of brotherhood, economic justice, and Nonviolence 365.
